With the Davis Cup tie with Croatia approaching rapidly, Andy Murray expressed his disappointment in the latest weather forecasts and revealed that switching to the indoor courts at Roehampton would hand a major advantage to Britain's opponents.

Persistent showers and heavy clouds are expected to hang over SW19 this weekend and the British number one fears it could lead to the downfall of his team. Murray singled out big-hitter Ivan Ljubicic as a danger, if the tie switched to an indoor surface.

It would definitely be a disadvantage if we had to move indoors. They are big guys who hit the ball well and Ivan Ljubicic is amongst the best hard-court players in the world.
Murray also elaborated on statements he made last week concerning his participation in the Davis Cup.

It's not that I don't want to play in the Davis Cup. I love it but I'm hurting myself playing it. There's no chance I'm going to play the week after Davis Cup, like I did last year, that was stupid.
The Scot will next travel to Moscow after the tie as he continues to charge back towards the top ten again, after his inury setback.

I agree. Thing is, the forecast is only for rain on Friday. If we get back outdoors again on Saturday/Sunday, depending on the draw we have a chance. Plus, remember Andy came close in Zagreb and that was indoors, and 20 months ago!

I wasn't but I was trying to make a direct comparison to the kind of shape he's in right now.

Andy was in pretty poor form going into Madrid as well though. First round losses in Bangkok and Tokyo.

Ha Ha. I don't think this is going to happen though. Having looked at the DC rules.
