Andy Murray has confirmed that his thumb has recovered from injury and that he will be fit to play at Wimbledon next week. The thumb is fine. I was right not to play on and I will be OK for Wimbledon.
I'm hoping that I get a good week's preparation and see what happens. If you don't have a life outside of tennis it can become a bit hard but I try to do something with my friends on a day off.
It is important to block everything out when you are on the court and remain focused on what you are actually trying to do.
The pressure has not been too bad this year. Last year I was asked about my wrist every single day. That wasn't too nice but this year has been fine. Murray continues...
It was frustrating not to have been there last year. But it was two weeks too early for me.
I had the option of having an injection in my wrist but I didn't want it. It would have been better for my wrist if I hadn't had to rush to try and get ready for Wimbledon.
I tried my best and it was worth the effort. I was a little bit pressurised to have the cortisone injection but I have a long career ahead of me. I might have been doing myself extra damage. It was 100% the right decision.

I have to agree with him. Short termism is not on the agenda anymore. He's here for the long haul and multiple slam wins from looking after his health are bound to follow

That section is quite interesting actually. Apparently Brad was desperate for him to play and had convinced him until he talked to his family and the doctors again (if I remember right).
I wonder if Brad was one of the people pressuring him to have the injection.

I wonder if Brad was one of the people pressuring him to have the injection. Yeah, must have been. The only person within his circle that wanted him to play was Brad (who was apparently desperate for him to play), I think. I'd have to re-read that bit to be sure.

Allan smokes, I've lost my faith in humanity.

It's a steroid, footballers sometimes have cortisone injections to play through the pain.

Yes, I wonder what he'll be doing with his friends in the second week of Wimbledon?

Ahhh I see. That doesn't sound like a good thing Well there's usually a reason you're in pain. You're body is trying to tell you something. To numb the pain and play anyway is pretty stupid. Especially with an injury that will get 100% better if you give it the time it needs.
