Fans will have to suffer an extra two week wait before Andy Murray makes his much anticipated come back from injury.

The Scot's mother, Judy Murray, revealed that Andy's wrist is not healing fast enough and therefore he is likely to miss the Los Angeles tournament that starts on 16 July.

He's got to have a little bit more rest and it's going to take a little bit longer than maybe he had originally hoped, but he's definitely on the mend.
Murray is still scheduled to play in Washington which starts a fortnight after Los Angeles. The 20-year-old reached the finals of the event last year so it would certainly make a fitting return.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! NOOOOOO! NOOOO! NOOOOOO! Crying or Very sad

Look on the bright side though, at least we're being told about this now rather than a day before the event.

Just shows he really wasn't ready for Wimbledon.  I'm glad hes taking his time coming back though.

Yeah me too, fingers crossed Smile  I reckon that would be plenty of time to heal properly.

Damn!  I cant remember the last proper match he played. He'll be lucky to still be in the top 20 by his comeback.

Remember when I said he would not be back for a while yet and you all shouted me down? This is injury is being staged managed, and there will be more delays to his return. I expect him to make his come back at the USO, not before.

Top 10 finish for the season is out the window. He's missed an unbelievable chunk of the season.

What do you mean the injury is being staged managed? Are you saying his camp are constantly giving everyone false hope? What benefits are there from that?

They did not want to admit from the outset that the big British tennis hope would be sidelined for a long time

I'm not too sure whether it is really worth it for them to lie about his injury in the long run but today's news does once again cast doubt over the handling of the Wimbledon pull out.

Andy just saying on Five Live that he's looking to be back in Indianapolis, but he'll definitely be ready by Cinnci or Montreal. He went to see the doctor last Wednesday and was due to fly out for 10 days training in America on Thursday, but his wrist wasn't ready.
