Andy Murray has been seeded 12th at this year's Wimbledon but the Scot is unhappy that the seedings are not based on ranking alone.

I feel I am one of the top grass-court players but because I missed Wimbledon I'm going to lose out which I think is a little bit tough.

I think it should just be done on the rankings, which is much easier.
Wimbledon takes into account the grass-court results of the previous two years when deciding on a player's seeding.

I think he's stupid for complaining - in future years he'll only gain from Wimbledon's method of seeding.

yeh same here and it is his strongest surface so he dosen't need much more of an advantage.

Well, now he's gone down one place, because he didn't play last year, so he's complaining. However, in future, he'll most likely gain, since grass is a good surface for him, so the Wimbledon seedings formula will probably favour him.

I think Andy's got a point but it's hardly worth complaining about. Nothing will change because of it.

How does he have a point?

It's a good, clear and sensible method to use, and Andy came out 12th, which is effectively the same as 9th.  I don't think anyone believes he should be higher than 9th, so he has nothng to complain about.  If it was done on the rankings he still wouldn't be in the top8, does he not realise there is no difference between 9-12.

I think he is one of the top grass-court players, much higher than is seeding. Although if he had of played at Wimbledon last year it wouldn't have made much difference to his seeding anyway. Well not enough that it will make a difference to if overall draw.

Andy has zero point in saying this. 9-12 makes no difference at all, and he's not ranked high enough to be any higher in the rankings like Josh says. What a load of pish.

He's 4th or 5th favourite to win, pretty much wherever you look to bet.  He's better than 12th.
