Andy Murray is now back in London after flying 6-000-miles from America so he could reunite with his girlfriend Kim Sears and clear his head in preparation for the US Open.

The shock pull out from New Haven may now be explained by Kim Sears heading to University around the same time the final grand-slam of the year would be coming to an end.

The Scot's manager Patrico Apey said,
It's a sensible move on Andy's part. He can practise at the National Tennis Centre and get some time with Kim before she starts university. It will be therapeutic for him to have a few days away from the tournament scene.
Murray is expected to fly back to New York on Wednesday where he will decide on his participation at the US Open.

Well I won't be too surprised if he doesn't play.  And I'm not that sad about it because I've just kind of got used to him not playing, and after seeing him play his recent matches I'd rather not watch him while hes not 100%.

I think we know why he pulled out of New Haven now, there really isn't any other explanation.

A bit of a shame he has to give a bulls**t excuse of "not being ready" when it's really "want to have some time with Kim before she heads out".

Maybe he needs a break from Brad for a few days. Bet they've been driving each other nuts!

If that really is the reason (which I doubt), it is highly unprofessional and he's having trouble setting his priorities.

I haven't heard a single plausible explanation for his withdrawal from New Haven, do you have any ideas?

His wrist injury...

The article I read in the Mail on Sunday, said that he was resting his injury and while doing so he choose to go and spend time with Kim for a few days to try and improve himself mentally... I doubt he soley took the time off to be with his girlfriend.

He's finally been allowed into the local arts and crafts club, and he's dying to try out his new membership.

Plausible explanations are often not shared with the media and fans, in which case, a silly story like this pops up.

His wrist injury...
That's not true - the day before his pull out he said that his wrist had 100% recovered.

"Re: Murray flys back home to see Kim"

Is that a new verb of some kind?

A summer of discontent for Murray — and Tim Henman — took another downward turn when both men withdrew from this week's warm-up event in New Haven, Connecticut.

While Henman stayed on to have treatment on his back in an attempt to be fit to play in New York, where the US Open starts a week tomorrow, Murray took the decision to make a 6,000-mile round trip home to rejuvenate his mind, as much as his body.

After disappointing displays in Montreal and Cincinnati during his tentative comeback from a wrist injury sustained three months ago, Murray feels his chances of being prepared for the ordeal awaiting him will be improved by a visit to London, where he has recently acquired an apartment.

His manager Patricio Apey said: "It's a sensible move on Andy's part. He can practise at the National Tennis Centre and get some time with Kim before she starts university. It will be therapeutic for him to have a few days away from the tournament scene."

Apey expects Murray to fly back to New York on Wednesday, where he will make a final decision on his participation in the US Open.

I was just reading what the Mail on Sunday said..

Yeah I appreciate that Sarah, I'm just saying it's not true if we are to believe what Andy said 24 hours before pulling out. According to Murray, his wrist is recovered which means there must be another reason.

I don't understand why there has to be another reason, why we have to take everything he says and form a conspiracy. I'm just accepting the fact he's taking some time off, and hope that he will come back and perform in the US open as a result of it.

There's no conspiracy at all... He has said his wrist is better and therefore we can simply speculate that he pulled out for another reason. The excuse of "he is not ready" can be interpreted in many ways, it doesn't have to be a lie.
