I figure he should have the edge in all those matches, though there's at least a 25% chance of him blowing any one of them (including Safin).
So I guess I'm saying I think he's only got a 42% chance of even getting to play Fedex (not counting the chance Fedex blows it again and doesn't get that far).

Frown Gosh, that sounds a bit negative.

Sorry.

I need an injection from the nursery ...

Are you all forgetting about Dr Ivo?  You seem to think he is already in the 4th round.  The way he has been playing ie, his last two matches, its nothing to get excited about.  If he gets to the 4th round, he would have played himself into the tournament and then its all to play for.  Its a good draw in a sense that he feels he needs to beat these players for him to consider himself one of the worlds best.  If he comes through this, which I think he has a good chance if he gets to 4th round, it could be the making of Murray.  It could be the time when he realises this is where he belongs - With the best and on the way to becoming 'best of the best'.

Nooo ... I hadn't forgotten Dr Ivo ..... he was lurking in the back of my mind and I was wondering about that encounter .......... nervous

This time I'm not looking any further forward than his first match, then I won't be disappointed, if he doesn't get to play Roddick or Federer.

But we SHOULD be disappointed. Because this is how he should be performing in Masters. He has to at least reach his seeded position. And if we think he's top 4 material he needs to make the semis.

I'm surprised no one has mentoned Safin
if he's on a good day and Andy is in passive mood it could be very tricky for him
like the last time they played.
If Safin gets to 2nd round that is...both very unpredictable players
