even better article from the beeb - Queen Judy quotes and (what I fear will become the infamous) 'kiss' Wink heehee Very Happy

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/tennis/4731634.stm

Quote
"I'm in Sheffield with my older son, Jamie, who's playing in a tournament and the hotel we're staying at didn't have coverage," she told BBC Five Live.

"But we woke up early this morning, we've seen some clips on the news and we had about 20 texts on the phone waiting for us."

You mean we stayed up to watch it and Jamie and Judy didn't? Oh dear....

I've got to say - what a match that was last night. My heart was totally pounding throughout (literally). Glad I stayed up to watch although I would have preferred a few beers to calm the old nerves (work on a Monday morning sucks Surprised) )

From SkySports.

Quote
He said: "This is perfect. I played solid all week. It's been the best week of my life.

"In the tiebreak, I decided not to come off the court saying I could have gone for a bit more and with regrets, so in a few points, I went for some big shots and it paid off."

Murray now goes to the event in Memphis with the chance of becoming British number one for the first time.

From The Evening Standard

Murray Claims his First ATP Title
Andy Murray celebrated the biggest moment in his fledgling tennis career this morning as he claimed his first ATP title whith a thrilling win over Australian Lleyton Hewitt in the final of the SAP Open in San Jose.
The 18-year old Briton came from behind against one of the world's top players to secure a famous 2-6 6-1 7-6 (7-3) success to cap a fantastic week in which he also beat No1 seed Andy Roddick in straight sets in the semi-final.
"It's the biggest moment in my life in tennis so far," said the triumphant teenager from Dunblane, who raced into the crowd to kiss his girlfriend Kim Sears after clinching victory.
"I got a little too nervous but i managed to come through. I woke up at 3am and couldn't sleep because it was hard to come to terms with the fact that i'd beaten a former No1 in the world in Andy Roddick, but then i woke up this morning feeling good. I controlled my emotions well. I made too many mistakes in the first set but once i got my first break, I started playing more aggresively and with more confidence. Those are the first two guys I've beaten in the top 10 and I'm looking forwars to the next few weekd."
Murray, who has now moved up to 47 in the world - seven places behind British No1 Tim Henman - plays in Memphis this week and certainly made an impression on former Wimbledon and US Open winner Hewitt.
The Australian said: "I guess there haven't been too many 18-year-olds in the last five years or so with that jind of skill. He hits the ball extremely well, mixes it up superbly and is going to continue to get better and better in the next few year. He mixes his pace on his serve and groundstrokes too. He changes things up out there and it's one of the best parts of his game. He's definitely got firepower to use. Andrew is a great prospect for British tennis.
Hewitt gained the early initiative by saving a break point on his own serve in the first game and the breaking Murray to go 2-0 ahead. Murray hit back immediately with a  break of his own but soon found himself 4-2 down after Hewitt secured his second break in game six and the Aussie had little trouble in holding his serve in game seven and then wrapped up the set with another break.
Murray rekindled his hopes of victory by twice breaking Hewitt at the start of the second set. With the Scot also holding his own serve twice, Murray was soon 4-0 up and then took the match into a deciding set.
He made a flying start to the decider when breaking Hewitt in the second game, but the Australian hit back with a break of his own. Hewitt then saved three break point to make it 2-2. The tension grown further as both players suffered another break of serve before Hewit held for 4-4. Hewitt saved two match points when 5-4 and 6-5 down but Murray would not be denied as he took the tie break 7-3.
