Tennis star Andy Murray failed to make the top three after being shortlisted for the prestigious BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award.

The Scottish teenager made a name for himself at this year's Wimbledon, where he reached the third round before losing out to David Nalbandian.

Murray also made the final of an ATP event in Bangkok back in September, and has since moved up the world rankings to 63rd.
