Andy Murray advanced to the third round of the Artois Championships at a canter this afternoon, after his opponent, Sebastien Grosjean retired due to a injury to his left hip flexor muscle.

The British number one showed promising signs from the first point, producing several break point opportunities before the Frenchman sustained his injury. Murray held serve after saving a break point, but the discomfort was evidently too much for Grosjean and he defaulted at 2-0.

In other news
Andy Murray has confirmed that he will compete at The Boodles Challenge 2008 next week in preparation for Wimbledon.

The event, which will also feature Novak Djokovic and David Nalbandian, is played on grass at the Stoke Park Club in Buckinghamshire between 17-21 June.

Is there any way we can judge as to whether Murray is showing good form just from this match?

Yeah, he played pretty well - but it wouldn't have allowed him to get much rhythm.

Serve worked well anyway, 3 aces if I remeber with only one service game and two were 134mph and 136 mph.  He was just warming up.

Murray after his match:

"It was at least nice to finish with two aces with a serve as poor as mine!"

Did he say that in the petch interview?  I heard that all and I have no idea how I missed it.

Just watching the interview now and he was having a laugh with Petch and he looks so comfortable.  Why can't all his interviews be like this, he shows his true personalily and people would stop calling him miserable.

It was a nice interview. And I just watched it again and he didn't say that about his serve. Not to Petch anyway.

That is because he was having an off day, there is no two ways about it.

He is a miserable f**ker and looks to be about as much fun as Morrissey on a stag night.
