My god, some serious over reaction. When was the last time Andy pulled out of a tournament with a virus. Not a sporting injury, but a virus, a cold, which we all get from time to time. Which Federer had earlier in the year.
I know you are all disappointed, but the reaction from some of you is ridiculous!
Taking care of yourself is not playing when you are ill and risking an injury.

Andy can't help getting sick. I'm surprised so few tennis players suffer from illnesses as your immune system can't be all that with all the training and stress.

What? How is he supposed to protect himself from a virus? Walk around in an isolation suit?
Murray is known not to take care of himself in the sense of eating the right foods at least. He eats burgers and sh*t like that which means we can assume he doesn't get the nutrition a famous sportsman should get to keep their immune system in top condition. I admit this may have been out of his control and that's fair enough but there's also a good chance he could have prevented it if he made sure to eat the right foods leading up to a tournament.

Do you have proof of that or is it just gossip? I think Murray keeps to a strict enough diet, but opposed to some other sportsmen, he occasionally sins against it. I find it very stupid when people with a huge talent waste it by not practising discipline, but perhaps Andy is just very sensitive to illnesses? Some people get sick easier than others and even nutrition can't entirely change that.

I'm pretty sure Murray has said that he eats a lot burgers/pizzas and I remember us all showing concern as he was doing it before a match one time (US Open?).
Many people underestimate what a good bit of nutrition can do to someones immune system but he could indeed just have a naturally weak immune system which would be a shame but more reason for him to avoid the sh*t foods.

That's a bit of a sweeping assumption. You know his diet inside out? I thought Brad changed his fast-food diet when he was coach and I'm pretty sure he has a nutritionist on his team. No point in having a fitness coach without eating the right stuff.

Biggest mistake ever. You should write Andy a letter and ask for a food schedule, he might give it to you.

It sucks, but probably sucks much more for Andy than us. He's now got to wait another week before he can start trying to get some ranking points.

Did you see the SKY Anchor when he was talking about this ........ he said 'it would not interfere with SKY's coverage of Andy (he didn't do anything as blatant as winking, but something similar to winking was implied) and that it had been purely precautionary on the part of Andy and TeamMurray' which I translated to ....... Andy needs more time with Alex Corejta !
No I didn't see that. Maybe you're right but he's going to have to play some time

No point playing if you're suffering from a virus.
But also he may need more time with a sports psychologist to help get him back onto the clay. I mean, the injury came so out of the blue, who's to say he's not got a fear to overcome, for all we know.
