Andy Murray has once again delayed his return to tennis after he pulled out of the Washington event.

He is still not quite ready to attack his forehand with the levels required to be genuinely competitive and thus his decision to wait another week at the very least.
The Scot will now aim to be fit for the Montreal and Cincinnati Master Series events which lead up to the US Open grand-slam.

I personally don't, obviously he would never have played at Wimbledon considering it was what a month ago now? and he still isn't recovered, so basically he would never have played... I really can't understand why he would pretend to play, and then not, but then again it seems likely.

He lied for whatever reason and it seems the only thing coming from the Murray camp now is bulls**t.

I feel quite pissed off now by Andy. It's over a month since Wimbly and he still hasn't returned so he obviously had no intention of playing there. What makes it more annoying is he says he hopes to be back for a tournament then pulls out. So if you still read this site Andy, stop pulling the wool over our eyes and give us a realistic recovery period.

Oh boll**ks! I'm so disapointed its unreal!

Perhaps Andys wrist was feeling better, but then it got worse because of all the practice! I still think he genuinly thought he was going to play Wimbledon!

I agree with you pictures of him at Roehampton last week showed him still having physio to the wrist,I think he thought by it would be back to normal with practise, obviously that hasn't happened,if your read to-days Times he said he hoped he could play his forehand normally by this week-endI take it when he does he must still get pain. Also think he tried to push it for Wimbeldon and ended up worse off. Also Brad in his Blog seem to suggest things weren't100%.To call Andy a liar is a bit harsh.I think he's trying hard to be back in plenty of time for the US Open. After all he feels the pain,we don't.

If that's true then Murray simply needs to stop giving us false hope even if he does believe it himself. He needs to tell his camp to keep quiet also.

By the way you ain't sounding much like a fan forum, fair enough to ask him what is the whole story. You can only call some-one a liar if you have proof.Maybe part of the problem is Andy hasn't given out much information re his injury.Ther's so much criticism about his fitness levels and comments about his injuries maybe he's reluctant to say too much.By the way Justin Henin now has a wrist injury.!!Seens a lot of it around!!

yawn It's not like he's personally attacked you by withdrawing guys. He's not lying to you individually. I'm sure that he really wants to get playing again and as such is setting himself what he believes are attainable targets. Wrist injuries are tricky - if it doesn't heal on time, then it doesn't heal. You can't set deadlines for your body. There's more important things in life than angsting about whether a tennis player 'lied'.

According to Carlos' blog Andy was going to have a practice to-day with Stepanek, just wonder if he played a couple of sets and found he still had a problem??Also had just started hitting again with the normal tennis balls up to last week he was still using light weight. With hindsight (Always 20/20)maybe
Washington is a little too early.has a lot of ponts to defend so was proably very keen to get back.Sometimes when it comes to health and injury, tincture of time isthe best medicine.

Maybe he seen a close up of Stepanek's face, cringed then said his wrist had flared up again lol
