Andy Murray has
for the first time spoken publicly about his split with star tennis coach Brad Gilbert.
The Scot told the Sun that he didn't like being told what to do and wanted more control. He also revealed that he was already thinking of splitting with Gilbert a couple of months before the announcement.
It was kind of difficult — although not the most difficult decision I have had to make.
But it was something I wanted to do. A couple of months before, I started to think about things and knew I wanted more control.
I wanted to have a bigger say and wanted to pay for everything.
Everything is now up to me as I make the decisions. Yes, it’s more responsibility but I’ll enjoy that.
Murray said that he is in "no hurry" to get a new coach and for the moment has recruited Matty Little and Jez Green to his entourage.
