Grand Slams are a different kettle of fish. You can only beat who is put in front of you. I'm not belittling Murray's results.... Far from it! They are fantastic and have the potential to be brilliant in the next few weeks. I only hope they are. What I am saying though, is that I don't feel he's made massive strides in his game to be rated the second best player in the world.

Bear in mind however, I did then concede his last two loses were to Nadal but apparently you ignored that part of my post......


Yes, you conceded it after rubbishing the premise.  People are not calling Murray the second best player in the world this year.  They mean since Wimbledon.  In other words, he has had the best recent form after Nadal.  There's definitely case to put at Murray at 2 or 3 after Federer's recent losses.

It was his 4th.  He has reached Toronto semis twice, Indian Wells semi and Miami semi.

No idea why I didn't pick up one nk2p saying that it was his first.   confused
