Murray to play in 'Turbo Tennis' event « on: June 20, 2007, 03:04:19 PM »

Andy Murray is scheduled to play a 'Turbo Tennis' event at the O2 Arena on September 15th.

The tournament takes place in one afternoon where six world class players clash in matches lasting just 30 minutes each. The winner will be decided after five knockout matches claiming the top prize of £50,000.

Other players scheduled to play include Tim Henman, Jamie Murray, James Blake, Goran Ivanisevic and Pat Cash.

It could be a lot of fun, but ticket prices for good seats £35-60!! £20 for upper tier tickets ain't too bad i guess.... but I wouldn't be getting lower tier for one afternoon's tennis.

The O2 Arena?? Is that the millenium dome?

Sounds a lot like that Superset tennis we had a couple of years ago.

I was wondering that.  I went to Superset at Wembley where I first saw Andy play McEnroe (he was beaten 1-6!).  He replaced Tim who was sidelined with an injury. 

It was well supported so who knows??
