Andy Murray is confused as to why some of the tennis players competing at the Olympic Games this year are not choosing to live in the Olympic Village. It will be an amazing experience for Murray and will make him feel more a part of team GB. - ljsmall.
» Join the discussion.The Scot will be staying at the Olympic Village next week with many of the other athletes but some competitors, like Roger Federer, are instead deciding to stay in five-star luxury hotels in Beijing. The conditions of the Olympic Village are not to the standards many of the millionaire athletes will typically be used to - Murray will be sleeping in a single bed with a bedside table provided by B&Q. However, this has not deterred Murray from the rare experience. I think quite a few of the tennis players are staying in hotels but I don’t understand why you would want to. If you make the decision to play in the Olympics, why would you want to stay anywhere else?
It’s a great experience to spend time with the greatest athletes in the world and I’m sure that I will speak to some of them. |

I would have picked the Olympic Village if I was an elite athelete, the atmosphere would be great, plus I could get up close and personal with Mark Foster  |

I see Muzza's staying in the Olympic Village to hang out with the athletes, rather than other players staying in top hotels  Thats cool. I think the village is such a cool thing. |

Personally I would probably stay in a hotel because I wouldn't want to be around people I don't know very well  |

Yeah but you don't like that sort of situation. But Murray seems a sociable sort of person at the best of times. Although he does like who he likes. I think his point about mixing with the best athletes in the world is a really good one. It would be an amazing experience. And it's make you feel a lot more a part of team GB. Otherwise it's just him playing another couple of weeks of tennis!
