Andy Murray will take on Jurgen Melzer in the second round of the Pacific Life Open.

The Austrian beat Marat Safin 7-6 2-6 6-2 to make it into the second round while Murray was given a bye.

Murray will start his doubles campaign today when he teams up with Jamie's old partner, Eric Butorac, to take on Martin Damm and Pavel Vizner.
