Secretive, and a little underhand. But not dishonest. Did he ever say he was definately going? And if he has only been feeling his knee the last couple of weeks then it's possible that he did have every intention of going.

However it would have been nice, a blow softener if you will, if he could have called the team and let them know what was going on with his knee and the fact he was having a scan and then perhaps made a brief statement with the same. Then when he made his decision there's be less of a backlash. And we'd all feel a little less let down.

I just read the news section on AM.com and I think they've removed all the negative posts. There's a whole load of responses to a couple of negative posts (one from a Neil P?) And none of them exist anymore!

What I don't understand is why you all seem to be believing rumours and hearsay, we don't know if John Lloyd knew about Andys bad knee, we don't know if Andy didn't phone John himself, we don't know if he is faking it to get out of DC, if you see a picture of Andy in the paper with 2 heads will you believe that too?  confused

Ah well,

Over here at MW we more than make up for their lack of negativity.
Andy will lose !! clap clap clap.
Or not even take part !! clap clap clap
Very Happy

Personally, I have no reason not to doubt his version about concern over a potential injury.
But it would be nice to think he'd handled the communication in a decent fashion.
But we're all disappointed that the cancellation came so late, and that GB now has a 2% chance of winning instead of a 40% chance.

I'm just thinking of the videos on AM.com this last week, particularly the one of him doing direction changes on the baseline. Someone with a crippling knee injury?

Although I'm not doubting at all that he is feeling it and the whole surface changing explaination. I don't doubt that for a second! But I just wish he'd highlighted the possibility a little earlier cause he's clearly known about it for a couple of weeks.

I'm not entirely sure the poll covers all the options. I do think he's genuinely concerned about his knee but I don't think the decision was too difficult for him.

I don't understand? What's that poll option got to do with it being a difficult decision?

Give me some poll options and I'll reset it if it's better.

He's genuinely concerned about injury
He just wants to stay at home playing video games instead of playing tennis
He doesn't exist any more, and youtube clips were all filmed months ago

Well you give us three options. He was genuinely injured and concerned. Or he's making it all up as an excuse to get out of it. Or we're just confused. Now I don't think it's an issue that you can have a poll on cause I don't think it's that black and white.

You see, although it doesn't say it exactly, I think 1 suggests that you believe him 100% in his account of events but 2 that you believe him to be lying about everything. And I don't think it's that simple.
