But think about it - for DC if he withdraws he's not just letting himself down, he's letting down the whole team. In the interests of organisation, team spirit, the way that the other players gel, it's only fair that he gives them advanced notice of his withdrawal. I don't doubt that his knee is playing up, and given the potential for further serious injury I'm not surprised he's withdrawn. If I was him, I wouldn't play.

Injuries happen, of course, but the recurring strain in his right knee that Murray blamed for his withdrawal, and his desire to focus his energies on the ATP tour and the Grand Slam championships have forced many observers to question whether Britain's No 1 will ever represent his country in the Davis Cup again.
Two days before Murray withdrew, he was filmed for his own website playing an exuberant game of 'tennis football' with three friends. Twenty-four hours after his withdrawal, he was training diligently at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton with his latest coach, Miles Maclagan.
Why had Murray waited until the day after the team was announced to withdraw? After all, he had played just one match in the past three weeks, losing in the first round of the Australian Open to the eventual runner-up, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
But what he has done this past week is to send an unmistakable message: that his career on the ATP Tour will take precedence over his participation for Britain in the Davis Cup.

Well if the Irish haven't got over Cromwell,Why should the Argies forget the Falklands??.Jonas Bjorkmann was sympahtising with the GB team going there,as the Swedish team had be given such a hard time.Even one of the Argentine players said the fact that three of the team were Scottish wouldn't matter the public would think of all of them as English.Don't know if te Argentinians are aware the war was against the British forces.

Maybe Argentina could be declared the winners now and both teams could have a nice social hit together,then go out for dinner like the Rugby teams do in the six nations,but no knicking a trophy along the road like the Scots and English did with the Calcutta Cup,then no need for a former SAS bodyguard.
