He who forgets the past is doomed to repeat it

News Thread « on: February 05, 2006, 11:40:32 PM »

Just a thought...might not take off. Theres so much happening in the news at the moment that I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread where the major news stories of each day can be posted - to get peoples opinions and to keep a record of whats going on in the world.

Major News Stories...
International: Danish Embassy in Beirut Torched, Tensions High in Wake of Ferry Disaster

Home:Pressure on Police over Protest, Queen Celebrates 54th Year as Monarch

Sport:Scotland 20 - France 16

goodjob  Good idea - not everyone will see a newspaper or check out bbc website - as I do when I'm away anywhere.  Might be some heated debates but debates are good things.

Yes, something about being treasure trove - government keep it and pay you for it, if they think it was hidden from government in first place.  Otherwise you get to keep it.  Few Roman coins found round near where we live and a Viking chariot!  shocking

I wouldn't be surprised if there was an attempt, but we already know that Al Qaida keep on attempting to destroy the US.  The real question is "is it even news?"

That coach crash is terrible. The scary thing is, my friend was there a month ago at the same place, Fugen.
