Freeview to get HD TV from 2009
Viewers will be able to watch high definition TV on Freeview from 2009, broadcast watchdog Ofcom has confirmed.
Up to four free HD channels will be broadcast, including the BBC's service.
ITV, Channel 4, Five and Welsh network S4C will be invited to bid for three slots in which they can broadcast high definition TV, or other new services.

I know this is old news but I only learned about it today...
Gang laugh as dog's throat is slashed
A gang of 'evil' yobs laughed as they cut a dog's throat, while her owner looked on in horror.
Eight-year-old cross-breed Pippa, the 'pride and joy' of owner Jenny Wilson, was playing in the garden of the family home when the attack happened.
Four knife-wielding thugs, aged between 18 and 20, grabbed the pet after getting in through a hole in the fence.
When she heard the dog yelp, Mrs Wilson rushed out and looked on in horror as the youths cut a gash in her dog's throat and laughed.
I hope someone cuts the throats of this gang and then laughs at them as they slowly die.

7 election officials have been arrested in Zimbabwe for apparently wrongly not counting all Mugabe's votes!

What a f**king bast**d, someone needs to go over to Zimbabwe and assassinate Mugabe before it gets any worse. We spends billions on getting rid of Saddam yet we don't send in a group of SAS to kill/captor Mugabe. This world just doesn't make sense sometimes

I see Shannon Matthews mum has also been arrested in connection with her disappearance, this is a strange one, the news is reporting that they were doing something similar to a storyline in Shameless.

Pete Doherty has been jailed for 14 weeks for failing to turn up to Probation meetings and drug use!
Wonder how he'll manage that?

It was obvious something was dodgy after they found the girl at the step-dads uncles house - or what ever it was. Looks like they saw the whole thing with Madaline McCann and thought they could earn on a profit on something similar.

Maybe it'll get him off drugs completely, 14 weeks without drugs is enough time to get clean?
