Erm, not quite

"He pleaded guilty at Mold Crown Court and the judge recommended that he should serve at least seven years." Total disgrace. This guy shouldn't even be considered for release, regardless of plea.

I wonder if he was sexually abused... 4 years is a long time to live with a known sex offender.

ive read the judgment ... he will have to serve at least 7 years ... but he will serve his full sentance as the judge said it in the judgment , its called the Rasio Decidedie and it is the law binding part of the judgment ... so he wont be out for a long while

you mean "Ratio decidendi" ?? Well that's all fair and well, but you can't have a law binding part of the judgement and a non-law binding part of the judgement.

Admitedlly in this case the recommended minimum before parole elligibility is 7 years and yes it probably says however, unlikely to be accepted. But the point i was making was not that he would get out, but that he should be considered at all. Minimum term should be 25 years at least.

I'm pretty sure he was. Why else would he have kidnapped him?

Magistrate quit over gay adoption

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/south_yorkshire/6293503.stm

I can't get my breath!  If a child is brought up in a safe and loving environment, what does it matter what sexual orientation people are!? Rolling Eyes

Because the orientation of a child's parents is bound to have an effect on it. While two males or two females may well be fantastic parents, that child is still going to grow up with the idea that being heterosexual is wrong and homosexual is right. Ok it's not that clear cut abouit right and wrong. But what i mean is, it's the human races design to be heterosexual. Gay parents have to be very very very responsible in making sure they don't try and make a child become homosexual just to be like them. Sure some couples will do this, but you know how many irresponsible mum's and dad's there are out there already. There are bound to be gay couples who will try and force their sexual preference upon their child.

"Mr McClintock, a member of the Christian People's Alliance council, said new rules on same-sex couples contradicted both his personal religious beliefs and his duty as a magistrate to put the child's welfare first"

I was under the impression that religious beliefs were taken into account in this country. For example, people being allowed to pray at work 5 times a day towards mecca etc. Or wear a turban or a cross. I certainly think his request to avoid cases confliting with his beliefs is entirely justified. I also agree with damaging a child's welfare by them being adopted by a gay couple.

I disagree entirely with gay adoption, People are entitled to live as they please, but a child knows only what it sees, and that should be a Mum and a Dad. Not 2 dad's or 2 mums!

A child won't take over the gay or lesbian orientation of its parents, because in some cases, it will have a hard time at school for it. It will become quite clear that in this world, to be gay is not to be right.

The only reason why I wouldn't agree with gay adoption is the child's social life, but these days, it's getting better and better and children get quite accepted in school when the parents are gay.

Also, a gay couple that is so dedicated to raise a child and to love it with all their hearts will not force something upon it.
They will have had the experience themselves of being forced upon being straight and they wouldn't want to do it to their own child the other way around.

That might hold in a few cases. But bear in mind, the number if bad parents out their. The proportions will be the same.

Also what children get bulleid for having gay parents? There are hardly any! Hence why gay adoption has just come in.

And to be gay is fine. Your choice. But rasing a chld in that environment, i disagree with.

Well, there are quite a few of whom the parents have only become gay after their marriage.

And to be gay is fine. Your choice. But rasing a chld in that environment, i disagree with.

There are so many bad parents out there, like you said, and adopting gay parents aren't on that list. They get checked upon so much, hardly anything can go wrong. And of course, there are still children that get a bad home, but they're exceptions.

It's just not fair straight people are allowed to adopt and gay aren't. They are capable of raising a child the same way as straight parents are.
