I'd go for the Olympics, too. I would love to see Andy there.

I think he should do the olympics. Its every four years and he only gets two or maybe three chances to do it. The US Open and all those other tournaments are there every year.

I would wait til 2012! The trip isnt worth it!
It's sure worth it if you take home a Gold Medal!
I'd love to see him there. As Amy says, the grand slams are every year, the Olympics are every 4. And in sport, it could be a once in a lifetime chance.

But right in the middle of the US Season, and he has to fly to Beijing and back. He complained about flying from country to country to play DC, and this is further.

It's a 22hr flight and a 13 hour time difference.

Depends on how he feels about the Olympics then. Personally, I feel that as a sportsperson there is nothing higher than the Olympics, and no greater achievement than winning a gold medal. So given the chance of competing at an Olympic games which is often a once in a lifetime chance, it would be hard to turn down. Depends on what his opinion is.

Well said. Although if he's to win one in his lifetime, I'd prefer it to be London 2012.

To be quite honest the Olympics being in London is just like it being in any other foreign European venue for me, and I don't look at it as being particularly special.
I won't be going to any events and will be watching it on television as usual, so if it is in Spain, Germany, Russia, France or England it would not make a blind bit of difference. I do prefer European venues due to the limited time difference though.
But it would be great for Andy to get Olympic Champion on the CV no matter where it was.

Exactly. I think hes only got 2 chances of going for a medal so why not go for it.

So when he's 28 he'll be past it then? Or even 32? If you ask me, he's got a minimum of 3 and possibly 4 if he stays fit into his 30's...

Yes but we have to acknowledge that other people might win it too, so missing one out of 4 opportunities to try and win it drastically reduces his chances of actually winning it.

Two or three chances at playing in it I guess, but I think he has a much better chance in the next 2 Olymbic games.

No... it reduces his chances by 25%. There's no "if this person wasn't playing" etc etc. If he participates in 4 he has 4 chances of winning . End of.
HOWEVER if you did go into it, he's got the least chance in 2008 as fed is still about....

I already said it was 3 or 4, so this is pointless, your last point you could have just said in the first place. Why you have "goodposting" as if you are trying to contradict me I don't get, cause nads is more agreeing with me that;s it;s 4 chances..... very odd.
