A flush of diamonds? Is a flush when you have five cards of the same suit?

Well no big UKSPC win for me!
Played pretty well and laster 7 hours into the tournament, which is the longest i've ever gone before. One moment of sheer madness meant I was out. Totally unexplainable loss of concentration to be honest. Very very very annoyed at myself for that. But sh*t happens, I did play very well over those 7 hours prior to the last hand and am overall satisfied with my poker progress. Looking forward to next year already! Was immense to have a whole tournament professionally dealt!
My fav hand (A9) I got 4 times and it won 4 times, which is fantastic. Only played 2 bad hands the whole tournament, got pushed off another and one SHOCKINGLY bad hand at the end. Won about 30 pots though, which was probably above average.... got a lot of play for my money anyway, aggressive play at the right time is definitely the way forward for my game. Not going to describe my last hand, because it'll make me look like a tit

7 hours is really good. And yeah, having professional dealers is great! What was the buy-in and how did you place?
And you might as well tell us how you bowed out? Everyone has shockers!

It was £30+3 and I placed roughy...... 40th/107 on the 2nd day. 108 started on day 1. So in theory between 60-80/215 overall. Should have finished top 40 but never mind.
And my shocker...... sigh...... ok.
I'm sitting UTG +1 with a stack of 17100 and the blinds at 400/800.
UTG raises to 2500 total, I look down at 10hQh and MISTAKE 1 - I call.
Button, SB fold
BB raises to 8000 total, UTG folds, MISTAKE 2 - I call.
Flop 6310 all spades.
BB bets 7000 and for some reason, despite knowing I had 17k pre-flop, I totally mis-count my chips and think i have more than 9100, somehow convince myself that going all in is a good idea, and she obviously completes for a mere 2100 more. I KNOW she has AA or KK and indeed, she flips KK. No Q or 10 to help me out and that's me gone.
Stupid, stupid stupid stupid. Horrendous play. Should have folded instantly.

Let me tell you of a hand last night!
I'm chip leader, theres 4 of us left. Shorts stack folds straight away. Then player 1 goes all in he only had 2000 chips (I had 15000) I call. Then player 3 goes all in too, so its now 5000. I call that. I turn over K Q Diamonds. Player 1 turns over Ace 10, and player 3 turns over K J. FLop comes out and pairs his Jacks. Everyone is shouting what they need, its getting a bit chaotic. Next card means nothing. River comes out and its a 9. Player 3 goes mental, he's won with a pair of jacks. Player 1 chucks his cards in the middle pissed off.
Someone shouts hang on, Mikes got a straight, King to Nine! Everyone goes mental, I go mad. It would have been me with 22,000 against someone with 3,000. With blinds at 500/1,000! The money was mine, I could feel it. Slowly I realize that the ten wasnt a community card. It was player 1's that he chucked in the middle. Now I've got a moral dilema.
The cards are about to be picked up. No-ones noticed, do I say anything and lose a third of my chips, or Do i keep quiet and probably win the game.
Had to tell them. Gutted! Got a couple of drinks bought for me though!

I don't understand how they didn't realise, or at least the guy who had the ten in the first place!?!?

We were pretty drunk! And everyone was shouting and people were looking over the table. It was just a simple mistake, and it happened very quickly! Its the first time I've ever experienced that anyway!
