Predictions for next year!
« on: November 05, 2007, 03:43:40 PM »
Ok, so how do you think Andy will do in 2008! Personally, I'd like to see him win one or two masters series events and reach the top 5 at least, making it to Shanghai!

With the way Federer is playing these days I would say he has a decent chance at an MS win next year. So I voted top5+ms

I go for a top 5 and then if he does better it will be a bonus.
(Why no flipping burgers Fuzzy option?)

I figure the 2008 season will see the Rafa/Fedex terrible twins get busted.
If Rafa's lucky, he'll get to be No.1 for a few weeks before being swept away by the younger (
) players [and some of the older players].
Measurable predictions - some time during the year:
Andy'll peak at 3 (Go 2009!).
Fedex'll be knocked off No.1 for at least some of the year.
Rafa will drop as low as 5.
The terrible twins (FandR) will win a maximum of half the GSs and half the Masters Series between them.
Someone else'll use the bullet point functionality on this board.

With the question as "What would you like to see ..." it's difficult not to just click that top button.
Except that no-one seems to have done so ?
And you call yourselves fans ...

Regarding measdale's post... I think the post question should be changed to "what do you expect" rather than "what do you want".

I think 2008 will be the year that will have a few players knocking on the number 1 spot, Federer just hasn't been raising his level the way he normally does recently, it can't be fatigue as he takes quite long periods off at time, Rafa has been beatable, and if Nalbandian keeps playing the way he has in the last couple of weeks he'll give people a run for their money too, I see Looby, Davydonkey, Hewitt just disappearing down the rankings. And I think if Andy doesn't win an MS or Grand Slam but can regularly get to semis and finals he will be in top
5
for sure.
