good post

Ain't it the truth!

I'm not sure if the word "realisticly" makes the poll any better than the first version.
C'mon guys.

Well what would you rather have then? Don't criticise unless you have a better suggestion....

How about... "What do you expect Andy to do next year?"  (stolen from Mark Wink )

Hey, my better suggestion would be to spell it "realistically". lol

But, why not tie in with the thread title: "What's your prediction for Andy next year" ?

EDIT: But the way it is now is lovely - I aint fussy (or fuzzy).

Eyebrow raise.

Ok then.... I'm sure I typed "realistically" because I remember mistyping it at first.... lol oh well.

With the way Federer is playing these days I would say he has a decent chance at an MS win next year. So I voted top5+ms Smile

Providing that he remains fit and injury free:
he will beat Rafa on a non-clay surface
he will beat Gasquet
he will reach QF at least in grand Slams
he will reach the finals of at least one Master series
he will part from Brad at the end of the year

So reach No.Five and Shanghai

I'd like to think he'll seal the number four spot by the end of next year. Smile I'd be surprised if he wins a Masters tbh, some finals appearances would be good enough for me.

Not just final appearances.  He is already 3-7.  We want to seem him win more finals than he does lose them.  But top 5 by end of 08.  How he does it, well that's up to him.  I dont really care, but he will be there!

No need to apologise, you mean Masters Series finals, I mean finals period - everyone has a different opinion on how well we want Murray to do and how soon we want him to do it. If he gets to a MS final, I really hope he plays well enough to win.  What I dont want to see is his finals record go 3-8, 3-9 and so on.  He is too good a player not to have a good record in finals - If he plays he can beat anyone!

There's someone in my head but it's not me

Re: Predictions for next year! « Reply #33 on: November 06, 2007, 10:12:32 AM »

I think he will end the year ranked 4th. He's better than Roddick and Davy and only Gasquet can stop him being ranked 4th.

I don't see why he can't win a masters or at least be in a final. The 1st 2 in the US will be prime targets considering he got the the semi's of both of them this year.

A grand slam quarter should be a given (unless real tough draws). A semi should not be out of the question. A final would be more than one could hope for. A win and well the cake has icing on it and is well and truely eaten.

I can't see Fed winning 3 more slams next year. He's good, well he's great but another 3 would be amazing. Heck if he won all 4 I think everyone else should just give up Smile

I think he will do something massive this year - probably a GS final and possibly at Wimbledon. A MS title is for sure, IMO.
