Wow, He just has to beat Haas and then either Djokovic or Ferrer to reach the top 10!

Yep - only 2 matches away but really really tough ones.  If he gets past Haas he'll be flying.

I was just looking at ATP site and noticed how good Andy's record with the top 5 is. Only Nadal has a better head to head with Andy in the top 5! 6 to 10 isn't so good for Andy! and 11 onwards is good too!

^ True and same goes for the Roddick/Nadal monkey he'd meet in the final. Haas is on top form.

Looking ahead to Miami, Ancic is supposed to be out, so he will lose another 125 points dropping him to 1775.  Ferrer defends 225 points, so even if he passes Andy in Indian Wells, he probably will fall behind him in Miami.  So, even if Andy loses to Haas and only gets to R16 in Miami, he probably will get to #12.  Of course, if Andy beats Haas tomorrow, he gets to #12 immediately.

Ferrer is no match for Djokovic, now Andy's ranking is entirely in his own hands:

Looks like Nole may just win that race into the top 10 - even if they both insist they aren't racing. He'll be on 1930 after this week at least then - that's spitting distance from top 10. End of the year they (Andy and Nole) will both be top 6 and at the Masters Cup I reckon.

Even if he loses - he will have 1905 points with only 5 to defend in Miami. He just needs to have an average week and he's top 10 surely.
