He loses a place for each one. If almagro wins he's 15th. If robredo wins he's 15th. If they both win he's 16th.

Just to refresh our memories

Andy will be ranked 13th next week (and level on points with Youzhny, who'd be 12th), unless one of the following happen:
Robredo, Almagro, Ferrero, Wawrinka or Karlovic reach the semis
Andreev reaches the final
Verdasco or Stepanek win the tournament.

However, only a maximum of 4 of these can catch him, hence the lowest possible is 17th.

So, he's now 14th unless:

Robredo
or Almagro reaches the semis (i.e. wins their match today)
Or Stepanek wins the tournament.

So he could drop as far as 16th still.

At least Andy is going in the right direction, up the rankings.

Yeah definitely. Like I said in another topic, he is technically having a better clay season than last year lol

We do have to bear in mind, he's still got 1 master's series, 2 grand slams, and probably two other tournaments (Indianapolis and Queens) where he defends 0 points. So just playing in them will get him up the rankings if he wins a few matches.

He was 3-0 up...... And that's a bad thing! We want Stepanek to lose! lol

but if he was to win about 3 or 4 games in Hamburg he would go up the rankings rapidly.

Well not really. A SF place will get him 9th or 10th maybe, but only if things go his way i think. A final or a win would maybe see him 8th or 9th. At a push 7th, but he'd need other results to go his way.
