good luck! just keep a cool head and try not to get too feisty on court! i get told off for swearing by my mum
and topspin- usually i use Head Intelligence iRadical. Ive been using Head for a year now- before then i always used Slazenger but for some reason i prefer Head now. It's much more comfortable for my liking.
heres a thing you didnt know- ive kept every single racket ive owned since i was about 5!!! you should see some of them- theyre so battered!![/quote]
thanks Amy, although every time i miss an easy shot or something i seem to swear and get really angry!
so i am hoping that they won't give out warnings!

Hehe... one thing i've learnt.. is
never
swear in sport! I used to do it quite a lot - but since ive got a new tennis coach, he stops us the second we open our mouths (if you swear.. 2 times round the whole tennis club)
It's a good idea not to swear.. ecspecially in sport
It gets you even more annoyed and you feel that the only way to get your anger out is by swearing. Throwing your racquet is worse.. so i reside to going up to the net and waming the ball as hard as possible - even if it's out... 1 point isn't such a big deal, compared with lots of swearing and a tough set!

I also never swear when I'm playing. It doesn't help...

I must admit, when i do play, i do swear occasionally .....
But not as much as i used to.... I was once playing in aa fun tournament (was just a bit of fun, all ages and girls and boys, no separate tournaments) at my club, and i was playing an 8 year old boy. I swore after one shot, and the person in charge made me loose the whole set....
After that i did try not to swear too much.....

its so hard not to swear isnt it annie?!
i get told off for swearing on court because it looks like im swearing at the other player but im not! i swear at myself! Its frustration in myself and how STUPID i can be with me shots some times. ARGH!!!

that is is exactly how i feel Amy! i don't swear at the other players or my doubles partner, i just get really annoyed when i miss an easy shot or i go for a shot but i miss and know that i should have left it for my partner
but i stayed a lot calmer today! a huge improvement from monday.

lol! go you!!! unfortunately i havent learnt how to keep my feelings to myself. i get very emotional on court sometimes!
i think its good that you can though and have the confidence to qustion line calls and stuff with the umpire (as long as youre not rude). then they know youre not a push over!

i have to say i have never thrown my raquet down (yet!) and i now know who my definate doubles partner is now and he is almost the opposite of me! i get really annoyed if i miss the shuttlecock, whereas he doesn't really mind and just gets on with it! also today was my last practice session before the match so i have been practising all week! i am so tired now, i got home at 6:15 after a two hour practice today! i don't know how you do it Amy! or Andy!

Yeah... i guess it's one of those things you must get used to, and learn to live with
When i was about 9-11, (and i know this is on a much smaller scale than Amy), I used to have swimming training for about 4 hours on a school day, and about 7-8 hours on saturdays and sundays.... and although it got seriously tiring, along with school.... i lived with it, because i absolutely loved every minute of it, and it was what i wanted to do

No - biggest regret of my life.... I gave it up when i was 11. A very stupid moment lol
I had broken my arm.... so i couldn't train for a while, and then i just told my coach that i quit.... at the time i thought it was the best thing to do, but now i seriously regret it
Apparently i could have gone somewhere with it....but oh well..... i try not to dwell on it!!
