Reckon I have any chance of getting into the journalism business with a history degree?
(Just checking out some options....not that I have the skills to be a journalist.....but it interests me Wink )

Well, yes, why not? You could always do the one-year postgraduate diploma - there's a good one at the Univeristy of Central Lancs and I think the other is in Cardiff. It's a good career cos it really open up options. Imagine you get made redundant at 40, like I did. It's tricky, cos you're not just going to walk into another job - but if you have a skill that you can do on a freelance basis, Robert's your dad's brother.

Lol - yes I know about the one in Cardiff (it being my home town and all!) My friends brother did it and now hes got a great job with ITV in the south-west. Helps that hes *ahem* quite fit....

Go for it - there are some many opportunities, so much trade press, so much online journalism. People have never had so much to say.

And now I'm going to limber up with some Belgian beer. Then I'm going to peer at a blurred ball through Eurosport's foggy contact lenses while a commentator who's had a personality-ectomy hoovers up in the commentary box.

I just love Eurosport.

First time with a real mouse. 37.834 seconds.

Previous best with the pad was only 21 or something.
