Andy Murray says he feels no pressure ahead of the final mainstream tournament of the season despite renewed hopes of qualification for the Masters Cup in Shanghai.
Since reaching the final of Metz the British press have had their pocket calculators out trying to predict how likely it is that our number one player will make it. Today, in winning the third title of his career, Murray moved to three points off that elusive 8th spot and this week will see the culmination of all the speculation.
However, the man himself is particularly relaxed about the whole thing while still fancying his chances.
Of all the guys, I have the least pressure of making it into Shanghai because I wasn't expecting to have a chance of qualifying. I had a lot of time to rest down and I think I've only played 14 or 15 tournaments this year so I'm pretty well rested. I'm going to try my best and if I win a couple of matches I have a good chance.
The draw in Paris is still a tough prospect with big players like Djokovic and Federer looming in the later stages.
