Well last year Fed lost to Rafa 4 times and Andy once...........this year he has already lost to Rafa once, Canas twice and Volandri once!

He is not as untouchable as people think, he is more vulnerable  shocking

Another upset for Federer, I just wonder what goes through his mind now when he loses, Tony Roach needs to earn his money now, he's just sat watching for so long he might have forgotten what to do.  Whistle

Apparently he produced some of his worst stats in that match but Volandri also played really well. So maybe Volandri forced a poor performance out of Fed.

Volandri should get to the semi-finals and who knows, maybe a Nadal v Volandri final cmon yeah

Fed had a 44% first serve doh

When he lost to Canas loads of us were thinking thinking something is up and then when he lost to Canas again I thought that we could be seeing the end of Federer's dominance and right now I'm almost convinced it just goes down hill from here and perfect timing for our Murray yay

I doubt that will happen, many players beat someone ranked a lot higher and go out in the next round against a player they can easily handle.
We'll have to wait and see with Volandri I guess. Think

Home advantage again though. And he seemed to really handle clay well. Surprised he managed to close out there though. Had some problems against Gasquet yesterday.

Fed was very poor. Never seen him hit so many short balls in a long time. Pleased for Volandri to win though. Smile

He was on pretty late last night. Long 2 setter at 2 1/2 hrs.

He's brilliantly idiotic at times.

shocking Still can't believe Fed and Roddick both lost.

Roddick's loss is less shocking because he's only played one match, I think, since Miami because of injury.

When he lost to Canas loads of us were thinking thinking something is up and then when he lost to Canas again I thought that we could be seeing the end of Federer's dominance and right now I'm almost convinced it just goes down hill from here and perfect timing for our Murray yay
  Good posting!

Rafa two points from the match against Youzhny. yay

If at first you don't succeed, you fail.

I hope so. Maybe he has lost the drive to win, he'll fade away. Though I doubt that will happen, he's just going through a rough time tennis wise.

What Fed had to say:

The 25-year-old has not won a title in four straight tournaments - his worst run since becoming world number one in February 2004.

Against Volandri, he hit only two winners with his forehand, normally his best shot, and made 44 unforced errors to Volandri's 23.

"I don't know what's wrong. I have to analyze it myself," said Federer. "It was over too soon for me today.

"I need to get back on the practice courts instead of the match courts.

"On clay you need to be solid, and I wasn't. I don't know if you can say I was playing shockingly, but I was making a lot of mistakes, serving badly - giving him second serves all the time.

"It sometimes happens, but usually I get through. And Volandri played well."

Robredo took the first set 6/1 against Davydenko. I have to say, Tommy wasn't worth his ranking for a long time in my opinion, but he's making up for it.
