NED came before Chav and makes much more sense. NON EDUCATED DELINQUANT. Chav just sucks. Admit it.

Thats very nice. That could apply to many people who are not, as we English refer to as, Chavs. Chavs are just .... Chavs. Or Chavtastic if you will
And how do I know if Ned came first. No one down heres ever heard of it.

"In Scotland, Ned is the West Coast term and Schemie the East Coast equivalent. Ned is said to be an abbreviation of 'non-educated delinquent', and Schemie comes from 'housing scheme' - meaning council house or high rise flats. In Edinburgh, this sort of housing was built outside the town centre but in Glasgow it's all over the place, hence you're more likely to get spat on/shouted at/mugged at Irn Bru bottle-point on Sauchiehall or Buchanan Street than on Princes Street."
That's just an interesting aside, although Ned is more common throughout Scotland these days.

Ah but my point is you see, that it only got into the dictionaries then. Ned has been around long before that as well. Generally, these words tend to creep in with their usage. So while impossible to say which was used in the correct context as they are known today first, we can deduce Ned was more widely used earlier than Chav.

I think the overall season leaderboard is a bit wrong - all the players below joint 9th have been put a place lower then they should be.

You actually also made a mistake, but it wasn't really your fault! Marek in this matchday thread should have 6 points, not 4, but the mistake was made earlier... Still, i was relying on you, so i blame you!

Well it's not my job to check previous days if I never posted the scores for them. I only check my own score on days that aren't scored by me. And occasionally I will check those around me.

Very interesting .......
Chav was going round my high school and I was there 1998-2003.
And I have yet to meet an English person whos ever heard of Ned. Its funny how almost every Scot goes "Its Ned not Chav" and English its "Its Chav, what the hell is a Ned?"
