That is true, can't argue with that. How have you fared in World Cups with it?
That's not the point. I didn't say that it was more effective, merely that it was more exciting to watch. And I think you'll find we won the 6 Nations Grand Slam with it 2 years back, so there.

So not much good then is the answer.
Hehe, I'm just messing with you. I have to say that I didn't see much of that exciting Welsh attacking play on the Lion's tour here in 2005. They all made the team after the Grand Slam win and were supposed to be the players who'd beat the All Blacks at their own game. I don't think I've seen a worse player at international level than Gavin Henson.

Footage from 2 years ago is it?
Nothing from the recent World Cup as this is the World Cup thread?

That, as I have stated before, is not the point. Show me anything half as good as that from World Cup final footage (barring the one almost-try from England).

Hehe, well obviously I can't can I?
I don't disagree Wales played some quite good stuff 2 and a half years ago, which I think is your point. Just a shame it never reappeared in the Lions that year. Especially as I paid 300 bucks for a ticket to sit in the freezing cold and watch them get thumped.

Anyway, moving away from how good Wales might have been 2-3 years ago, and onto a present topic more related to recent events in the World Cup. What do you guys make of these plans for a possible new quote system in South Africa?
Winning the World Cup and lifting the black President onto their shoulders in the celebrations etc was apparently not enough. Never mind how many good players they had, there weren't enough black players for the Government, and now they want to introduce a quota system that means they must have a black coach, and at least 10-15 black players in the team. Pretty pathetic IMO. You can understand why Kevin Pietersen got fed up being overlooked for inferior players based on their skin colour and decided to leave. When these quota systems started coming in about 10 years ago, could they not have put money and resources into developping black rugby players? Then by now, the kids from back then would be coming into their 20s and be making the side on merit rather than skin colour.
Such a quota would destroy South African rugby IMO. Which would be a shame considering they are World Champions.
