Watched the latter stages of it. Reasonably comfortable win and a great start to the season.

Did the rule changes make it more exciting? Congrats Lewis!

What an eventful race. Most exciting 'dry' race I've seen in a while.
Hopfully it'll be like this for the rest of the season.
Imagine what it will be like when it rains.

To an extent they did.

I watched quite a bit of that race which is quite refreshing for me - it's great to get back to one of my favourite past times
I'll get enjoyment out of this F1 season as I support Hamilton and celebrate when Alonso does poorly

Yeah I think so. It's starting to lean more towards the skill of the drivers now as opposed to the quality of the car which can only be good for the sport. It will be more the best drivers who win now, rather than those with the best cars. Only 7 out of 22 finishing the race is a good indicator of this IMO.

I think it was always down to the skill of the drivers, but
in recent years they tend only to be rewarded for positive skills and they've been protected form the results of errors,
whereas now the cars will punish them more for cock-ups as well.
EDIT: The main driving difference (there are others) is that they've pretty much taken away automatic traction control (and the related launch control), which used software to rescue the car from driver-induced spins and other general out-of-shapeness. It meant the drivers could take all kinds of risks and, if they didn't pay off, then at least they wouldn't lose control of the car.

Ahh... I remember when traction control was brought in and I was very disappointed by it. I'm very glad to hear they have got rid of it.

This is returning to BBC TV next year.
So no adverts during the race.

Yes! I loved F1 when it was on BBC, back in the old school days when I was a Damon Hill fan!

This is very good news for F1
Wikipedia claims "On March 20th 2008, while being interviewed on BBC Radio 5 Live, Walker was asked if he'd consider a return to the TV commentary box when Formula 1 returns to the BBC in 2009, he answered "Never say never"
Here's a reminder of the BBC intro:

And this was the period I was a huge fan:
