He's a 23 year-old from Portugal ranked just in the top 150. He's had a fairly good year so far on the challanger circuit, with a final and semi-final appearance in the only two tourneys he's played. This is the second time he's beaten a fairly big name at Estoril, having beaten Tursunov a couple of years ago here. Otherwise, I think he's a fairly new name...

I was just looking at the Houston site and noticed The Tennis Channel being promoted - has there ever been any word of that Channel being available here?

Tennis study shows John McEnroe was right about line calls - 40pc of the time The John McEnroe effect has been unravelled by scientists who say that players really do see things differently from the line judges. A comprehensive study of tennis matches shows precisely how much harder it is to see on which side the ball bounces, when it comes down within four inches of the line. It turns out that in around ten per cent of cases, judges will make the wrong call, showing that McEnroe really did have a point when he said: "You cannot be serious." http://www.telegraph.co.u...08/04/16/scitennis116.xml

Novak Djokovic says all British players are spoilt, apart from his friend Andy Murray, this was him talking to Inside Sport.

I don't know, I saw it on teletext, but there is a write up about it in the Guardian. He says the Brits get everything handed to them on a plate.

I heard it last night. I'm pretty sure he didn't get the insult that can lie behind the word when it's used in English though. He didn't even know if it was the right word to use, which is why he went on to explain it a little better. He had nice things to say about Andy but he said he thinks he just needs to settle down mentally and play good tennis. Then we'll see him slowly progress up the rankings. he also said he doesn't envy him the pressure.
