I have blue eyes, but my mum does not! Am I not related to her???

That's totally not what the article means. It means that if you have blue eyes you are related to everyone else with blue eyes. As it is believed this eye colour originated from a single person. So they say. lol

No, its only with blue eyes. There was a study into the genetic make-up of various eye colours, and one conclusion was that the blue colour came from a single mutation in one human around 6,000-10,000 years ago. They therefore say all blue-eyed people are related.

Nah, its all stupid. I would say, that if you're English, you probably share ancestors with every other Englishman, and you probably wouldn't have to go back more then 20-25 generations. Its not incest, even marrying a first cousin isn't!

I know but its still like family and stuff.  Besides, I wouldn't worry about mixing genes with another blued eyed person because if its true you'll be going back a few years anyway.

With your reasoning, an interesting fact would follow: scientists say that to be blue-eyed you need to inherit from both your parents a gene for blue-eyes. This would mean that your parents must have both had a gene for blue eyes, and must therefore be related. With what you're saying that its incest, that means every blue-eyed person is illegitimate! lol

Club finds fault with Lauryn's grunt

A NINE-year-old girl has been banned from playing tennis by her local club because she grunts too loudly.

Lauryn Edwards was told at the weekend that she could no longer play her favourite sport after a complaint by an opposition player.

The Mt Carmel Tennis Club, in Sunbury, told Lauryn's stunned parents, Duncan and Ruth, that the grunting had become too much.

Mr Edwards described the ban as pathetic and has contacted Tennis Australia and Tennis Victoria for advice.
