I have it in my side pocket as well but when I start running there seems to be a 2+ second delay before it starts doing it on the screen, same with you?

The 10-year study of more than 500,000 U.S. adults found that those who were just moderately overweight in their fifties were 20 percent to 40 percent more likely to die in the next decade. Another study involving more than 1 million Korean adults, also being published in this week's New England Journal of Medicine, produced similar results.

The studies, both released yesterday, were aimed at helping resolve a long debate over whether the millions of Americans who are not obese but are nevertheless considered overweight are at significant risk.

I just noticed this.... Mark, that proves nothing at all. In fact it adds to my point that you don't need to be looking at your diet and exact weight until you are 40. Yet it says 50.

Also, I think it's talking about the difference between being overweight and obese. Not the difference of 7lb which makes you feel that little bit flabby......  Rolling Eyes lol

Good point regarding the age, I should have actually read it properly rather than skimmed through it.

The reason I tried to find a quote like that is because I remember reading in the newspaper recently something about being just slightly overweight can be as dangerous as being obese but I don't know where to find the report.

Yeah but define slightly overweight? I'm pretty sure it doesn't mean a few pounds out of shape.

I could put on about....... 30lbs and still be in a healthy BMI range. But I'd feel overweight with that much extra. Yet physically, i;d be fine.

The jogging one is without doubt the most effective for fitness but whether someone can motivate themselves to do that every other day is another matter.

Yeah, probably not every day, but a couple of times a week would be good.

And the story of my eratic weight continues...

Bare in mind Cate's has been stable thus far and I weigh myself around the same time every day (before dinner).

How weird Think  Maybe you should weigh yourself every hour for a day and see if it real is jumping about.  Also do you have a normal scales you check yourself on?

Even daily is too often. You shouldn't really bother weighing yourself more than once a week. What with fluid retention based on what you eat and whether you've been to the toilet (!) or not.
