Yeah, probably not every day, but a couple of times a week would be good.

And the story of my eratic weight continues...
Bare in mind Cate's has been stable thus far and I weigh myself around the same time every day (before dinner).

How weird
Maybe you should weigh yourself every hour for a day and see if it real is jumping about. Also do you have a normal scales you check yourself on?

No normal scales and I have double checked my weight once when it said I had lost 7lb.

Even daily is too often. You shouldn't really bother weighing yourself more than once a week. What with fluid retention based on what you eat and whether you've been to the toilet (!) or not.

OK but weighing yourself each day and then looking at the graph is more accurate than just weighing yourself each week. And the Wii said that it's normal to have up to 2lb lost and gained but I lost 7lb.

Well, perhaps, if you look at it over a week, you might notice a difference. Do you have a balanced diet? Do you have sorta roughly fixed meals (i.e. saturday is always pizza night, Monday is chicken or whatever) or do you eat whatever you feel like. If you have a cycle of meals, it might balance out better over a week. Other than that, it could be down to an unusual metabolism....

I'm the worst for habits so I basically eat the exact same food every day.
Maybe I do indeed have a dodgy metabolism.

Yesterday it said I put on 8lb (within 48 hours), my graph continues to shoot up and down. Cate remains steady with a loss of 1lb.

I'm not proud of it but I'm one for habits when it comes to food. If I end up liking a dinner then I'll have it everyday until I don't like it. Same with music, same album every day.

That's not healthy at all. I mean, I can eat pasta dishes til the cows come home, but I don't, because I know it won't do me any good. You should try planning your food in advance. Maybe 2 or 3 meals swapped about for a couple of weeks, then try getting 6 different meals and 1 you can repeat after that.
Same with lunch, if you make your own sandwiches, change the fillings. If you buy them, change that as well.

You're preaching to the choir - I know my fair share about nutrition and therefore of course I know my food habits are not healthy.

I'm the same as you a bit, I stick with what I know. If I go to a certain restaurant I tend to order the same thing every time. And at home I probably eat the same things but I mix it up with different days. Plus I'm a fussy eater because the only animals I eat are chicken and fish.
