I played on synthetic ones Monday, very quick, makes you look so much more powerful than you are. (Shame it didn't help...)

Ive played on real grass once before, league doubles team match...surprised me as it wasn't as fast as I thought it would be or as low bouncing...slice is extremely effective because it basically dies and stops in the court...best return is often to chip it and come in. Tough to play topspin lobs of those shots as the ball doesn't come on to you.

Love clay, I'm an aggressive baseliner...was great grinding out the rallies. Played tourneys on the dirt in Austria and Slovenia...the guys there have the passing shots worked out so well  so the net is just a no go. Have also played on the shale stuff they have down at Bournemouth where the nationals are held...if anything its a bit slower and not as high bouncing as the red stuff

Hate astroturf though, especially when playing net-rushers as the ball just skids through. The courts are quite tough to maintain as well so thats probably why there's only 3 pro tourneys played on it
