In terms of drama and length it's right up there.

In terms of quality maybe not as much - way more errors than winners and lots of similar baseline rallies. But also some amazing rallies, tonnes of excitement, twists and turns and obviously, history being made.

It was worthy of a final, best match of the tournament, probably. Although I'm bound to be biased.

Once again, congrats Andy. That was amazing. I am so proud. I feel like a proud brother or something odd like that.

Noble might be a cock, but that is a classy speech.

Media training. That timeout was despicable.

I am so happy for Andy. He worked so hard for this and totally deserved to win. I had chorus practice tonight and I went but I had to watch the match on my iPad, so while the chorus sang away I was in another room glued to my iPad. I watched the whole thing and posted MW on my phone. When the match was over I went in and exclaimed to everyone that Andy Murray had won the us open, they all raised their voices in a hurrah for Andy. I think that Andy thought it was a dream when he won. He looked like he was in shock, does anyone else feel that way?  There was no running to his box, no walking around with the trophy, hardly a smile on his face. I look forward to seeing the match over where I can see it well. I think it was one of the hardest fought us opens I have seen. High winds and great returns and rallies that went on forever. That one rally in the beginning was 54 hits. I will go into the office tomorrow with a big smile on my face, my Murray won the US Open!!!

To be honest that time-out might have done Andy some good even.

It was nice that at the end of the match though the score-line certainly took the pressure off taking the match points having a 5-2 lead and getting to 40-0 on his serve. I wonder how Andy would have coped if he was in a tight situation with match point, we'll hopefully see this scenario in another slam at some point though then we will see get to see Smile

I'm so emotionally drained right now. It's been hours and I'm still jumping up and down and dancing around my house. It's finally starting to sink in. A great match, I feel like I lost 15 years of my life watching it, I was so stressed out. Of course I was crying before it was even over. Now let's hope we won't have to wait another 76 years. I see many more slams for Andy, the first one is always the hardest.  trophy

Andy gave a really great post-match presser.  clap Nole's was very good too.  clap Tennis is very exciting right now, with the big 4 each winning a slam this year - who knows what's in store for 2013, providing the world doesn't end. Wink
