The China Open has announced Andy will be playing there in October. Page 1 updated.

The 500 events are good for Andy as the commitment rule allows any player who was ranked inside the top 30 at the end of last year entry into ATP 500 events. This is how he entered into Washington and now Beijing without a protected ranking or wild card.

Can someone let me know if there are any  mistakes on the schedule, up to Oct 1, at https://www.murraysworld.com/schedule/.  I have had some difficulty with simple machines and decided to redo the entries for this year.

Reports suggesting that Andy has pulled out from Toronto, with his wild-card being given to Wawrinka. Still no official confirmation.

Has been confirmed, Andy wants to rest up next week to prepare for Cincy. Still no word on today's match against De Minaur.

Thanks for the update Matthew. A shame but understandable given the long, late, matches in DC.

The Rogers Cup is one of my favourite touraments on both tours, pity for them that Andy’s withdrawn as they were the first M1000 to give him a WC this year.

Have updated the first page of this thread.

The following posts are from the "Andy at Washington" thread.

Jesus, sorry ATL.  devil

So is this page the first and last word on his official participation? https://www.murraysworld.com/schedule/

This is the thread I start in November/December in preparation for the next year’s season and update it throughout the year.

It has just been announced that Andy has withdrawn from Toronto.

I believe Colin uses this thread to update the schedule on the landing page.

My  first source of information is indeed this excellent discussion thread hosted by atl, and the list she authored and updates. I do of course also look at Andy Murray's own and tournament websites.  The last word on Andy's participation in events should be his own website but that is not always up to date.

I do wonder about putting a link under the entry for the year on the front page inviting readers to read atl's thread for latest details and discussions about Andy's programme. I presume that this would require approval from Mark.

The only reason I became involved was because I was the only volunteer to put a previous year's programme in tabular form.

This is my version of atl's list for 2018 from Queens onward in tabular form
18-24 June(OT)Queens (C)(0/500)(G)
25-30 June(OT)Eastbourne (C)(0/250)(G)
2-15 July(GS)Wimbledon(360/2000)(G)
30 July-5 August(OT)Citi Open Washington (C)(0/500)(H)
6-12 Aug (M) Rogers Cup Toronto (WC)(0/1000)(H)
13-19 Aug(M) Cincinnati (WC)(0/1000)(H)
27 Aug - 9 Sept(GS)US Open(0/2000)(H)
10-16 Sept (OT) Davis Cup WG Play-offs, Glasgow (?) (0/0)(IH)
24-20 Sept(OT)Shenzhen (C)(0/250)(H)
1-7 Oct(OT)Beijing (C)(0/500)(H)
8-14 Oct(M)Shanghai(0/1000)(H)
22-28 Oct (OT)Vienna (?)(0/500)(IH)
29 Oct - 4 Nov(M)Paris(0/1000)(IH)
Nov (E) Andy Murray Live, Glasgow (?)(IH)
12-18 NovWTF (?)(0/1500)(IH)

If this is of any use go ahead and copy (from the 'quote' window) and paste.

Is Andy still playing in Shenzhen?  Things seem to have gone very quiet.

I was wondering that myself.  He's still down on the players list, which means nothing really because these lists tend not to be updated.

EDIT - This was taken at Hong Kong airport by a fan, so I reckon he is.

That’s good news.  I suppose we will know for sure when the draw comes out.  I notice none of the sports channels seem to be showing Shenzhen this year.

I searched for the draw date without success too! Always hard with tennis tournaments to get information much in advance.

He could be playing next Monday as it is qualifying this weekend.  If I remember my geography Shenzhen is the just on the mainland next to Hong Kong so he is in the right place!

Let us hope that he gets a few rounds of match practice there before Beijing & Shanghai. This draw is significant for that. The points gained would help him get to a potential seeded position in future events next year quicker to avoid his having to play those of a similar ability at early stages. It would be excellent if he could make the Quarters?  He would then make it to 200 points. If he plays the three Asian tournaments listed and culls between 150 and 200 points and then gets some points from Paris he will almost be back in business. I feel that something about 400 points is what he should aim for from the remainder of the year. I think he still has a lot of work to do to win more than that.  If he won two or three matches at each tournament listed he would be about there. I have not done precise sums but other than Shenzhen all the others in this schedule would get a good points return for some wins?  I exclude Vienna as I do not think he will go there (gut feeling only).
