In other semifinal news, Shapovalov just managed to scrape a win in the singles against Khachanov, so Russia v. Canada will be decided in the doubles match. The comms on my stream think Canada has the advantage because Pospisil is such a good doubles player.

A counter puncher like Andy always fights back.

It is a shame that we cannot see Andy playing tonight. I was so looking forward to this event, regardless of the new format. What is it: Andy not being fit or not being match-sharp? However, Kyle and Dan have both performed very well. I hope Dan has still something left in the tank after three three-setters. For me it would yet be more than surprising if they came through against Spain in front of a home-crowd with the No1 in their team.

I am glad that Leon has gone with Kyle for 2nd string match. Personally i think that Andy was more likely to beat Carreno-Busta but if the youngsters are ever going to come good this is a good place to do it. They are qualified for next year already which is more than they could have expected earlier in the year. Dan has had his moment yesterday and no-one should not expect him to beat Nadal unless the Spaniard's body has a melt down. If Kyle were to beat his opponent then we will have Jamie in the spotlight for the decider. He could do it with Neil whoever they play against. As others have said if Dan could give Rafa a tough time then he will not be used in the final doubles and if he is then he may not be that useful to his team? Lopez and Granollers are very beatable. I am ready to watch Kyle with everything crossed!!!

Interesting choice from Spain: Feli (who already gets broken in his first game).

Minibreak for the first point!
And a minibreak back, unfortunately.
And another minibreak for Kyle!

Great win! Expect Rafa to win this next one and hopefully a GB win in the dubs.
