Andy at Brisbane 2018

Cobblers!

If Andy chooses surgery it will be to be competitive at ATP level.

Thoughts of playing exhos when retired will not be something that he will be thinking about right now.

It's a secondary option at the moment though so let's wait and see........plenty of fight left in Andy.

Maybe read before finding imaginary differences. I said 'at least' be able DO exhos. If he has surgery it is quite likely not to work to make him competitive again, as he is well aware.

You can't possibly "know" either of those two things. You can "hope" for them, certainly.

To clarify my point is that if Andy chooses surgery as the only option, he will be doing it to try and make himself competitive at ATP level and will not be thinking about exhos when retired (unlike althusser), in my opinion, this will be last thing on his mind. I agree with you that we can "hope".......plenty of fight left in Andy.

I read your post just fine althusser, but thanks for the advice,

If Andy has to choose surgery, I disagree with you, he will be choosing this as a last option BUT to try and be competitive at ATP level. This will be the focus, he wouldn't be doing it think thinking 'at least I will be able to do exhos!!!' In my opinion, your comments were a lot of Cobblers!. we are all aware of the risks of surgery but as I mentioned he said it's a secondary option so let's see...............plenty of fight left in Andy.

You are doubling down on your failure to read my initial post. I never said what he should be thinking i said 'he might at least be able'. But keep ranting at the strawman if it makes you happy Smile

I don't see what was wrong with althusser's post.  He just said "he might then at least be able to do some exhos and charity matches when retired" - I don't understand your reaction to this post.
If Andy had to have surgery i.e. a hip replacement it would be very doubtful if he could recover enough to play on the ATP tour which is extremely demanding and not for someone who has undergone hip surgery.
Andy will be thinking in the longer term - so it's very possible that he might be wondering about charity matches and exhos.
We can't know what Andy thinks, it isn't possible to do that.
I'm sure he'll be thinking around the subject and as, presumably, he has the best medical advice available, his doctors and sports team will help him to make a decision. He won't even think about what we say!
