Quite an impressive trophy - don't think I've ever paid attention to it before. Really hope Andy gets to hold it officially before long, but it's a huge ask.
That's his trophy for being #1. He gets to keep that one. The WTF trophy is the rather boring looking one in the photo of the final eight stood in front of the Cutty Sark.

Now I'm more than a bit confused. I thought the WTF finals was to confirm Year end No1. Now you tell me that ain't so?

Ah, I see. There are three different trophies. The glass globe one Andy is holding is his trophy he gets for reaching the #1 ranking in his career. It hasn't always looked like that though. Andy gets to keep this regardless of whether he is still #1 before the year is out. There is this trophy for being year end #1, which Novak has had for a while. Winning the WTF would see Andy with it this year:

Thanks for all the great pics and the explanation about the trophies because I never knew that either!

Brilliant! Interesting that Andy opted to use his left hand again, just as he did with the Olympic flag, most of the time anyway.

Thanks Bev. Always striving to improve, that's what true champions do. Interesting though that the court is a bit faster this year and similar to that in Paris. Just so long as Andy remembers that nets are there to come forward to, as well as for (hopefully) hitting the ball over, he should do OK. An early Christmas prezzie from Santa of a decent 1st serve would be nice too!

Let's not forget big bro Jamie who'll be playing in the doubles! First match 6pm tomorrow for those interested.

The dynamics here re Andy and Djok's performances are going to be fascinating, for sure. Not to sideline the other players, btw. And, yes, Aileen, best of luck to Jamie as well.

Is anyone interested in a spreadsheet to help with group qualification scenarios and for calculating group standings?
