What a joke of a draw. Literally the hardest one he could possibly have. Thiem and Monfils are easy wins and he has a 7-match winning record against Raonic.
That draw's in all reality handed the #1 back to Djokovic, unless Murray can beat him in the knockouts. Can't see Djokovic losing a match in the group and can't see Murray winning all three.
In most tournies you have to beat the best once to win it, Here you have to do enough to get to the semis as first step.
If one of his group wins against him and wins all three he will play the other group runner up and Andy wins the other two games well will probably play Novak in the semi. He is likely to have to beat him sometime and it will be easier in the semi in my opinion.
If Andy wins all three of his RR matches then he will almost certainly play the number two in the other group which is comparatively easy for him and probably Novak in the final.
What is the problem?
Having the hardest group does not necessarily mean the worst.
