Andy at the Gijon Open

The 2022 Gijón Open, which is organised by the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation, is a professional men's tennis tournament to be played on indoor hard courts at the Palacio de Deportes in Gijón, Spain, from 10 -16 October. It will be the 1st edition of the event and part of the ATP World Tour 250 series. This was one of the six tournaments that were given single-year ATP 250 licenses in September and October 2022 due to the cancellation of tournaments in China because of the ongoing covid pandemic.
Andy has been awarded a wild card along with Feliciano Lopez and Spanish hopeful 16 year old Martin Landaluce who won the 2022 US Open Boys' singles title. Former world No. 3 Dominic Thiem, who won the 2020 US Open, will also be playing through his protected ranking. The field has ten top 50 players other than Andy (currently ranked No. 46) and is headed by world No. 9 Andrey Rublev.

I can't find when the draw will be made but think it could be tomorrow (Saturday).
Unfortunately Amazon Prime are not showing this although TennisTV are. Hopefully free live streams will be provided.

I also hope he's finally managed to get on top of his cramping problem.

Thanks for this thread Aileen, I so hope Andy has got to the bottom of this cramping. Dijon looks lovely, never heard of the place.
Hope he has a better draw than of late.

The draw is now out.
Andy plays the No. 6 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in round 1, and if he gets past that, the winner of world No. 59 Pedro Cachin vs Qualifier, while the No. 3 seed Roberto Baustista Agut could await in the QF, with the prospect of possibly the No. 2 seed Pablo Carrena Busta in the semis.
Full draw

It happens again. Andy meets a top player (6th seed) in the first round. That Spaniard is good so time for our Scot to put it all together and surprise his opponent with a special performance. I think it is all about belief now as recent play has looked good. He looked class at the Laver Cup but a good win is now overdue. I think that he would love the opportunity to play Bautista Agut later.
Added: He plays on Monday but am uncertain where I will find coverage

It is annoying particularly when you look at the field and see who else he could have played in round 1 who isn't seeded! Also 7 Spaniards in the draw so far and Andy gets 3 of them.
As for coverage, hopefully Tonedial will provide a livestream. Fortunately I have a sub for TennisTV that I forgot to cancel so can watch it on there.
I don't where you saw that he plays on Monday, but I wouldn't take it as given because schedules can change.

^ MA. As I've found out in the past livescores are not always accurate, so best to wait until it appears either on the tourny or ATP websites.

^ Aileen, I understand but they do usually seem to know who plays on what day then edit them for schedule times later. Qualifiers play in the main draw on the second day usually so eight matches are on Monday.

Ah when can Andy get better luck, long time coming. Tricky 1st round as it takes Andy awhile to get into a tournament.

It looks definite that the match is tomorrow (Monday) except the time isn't declared yet.
