Had 2BP. Put forehand long. What a chance to go 5-3. 4 all now.

A counter puncher like Andy always fights back.

Andy, the fighter. Brilliant effort. A very good night to everybody!

Played very well in the final set. Was aggressive and dominated most of the points.

I'm just catching up with the result of match. What happened to Andy in the 2nd set?

once he got behind, he manufactured a 'calculated loss' to gather for the 3rd set

Thanks Tonedial, good to getan explanation. Andy the tactician at work. That's so smart when your back is against the wall.

Had to leave to go and play in my own match when they were early in the third set! So glad he pulled it off! And he's clearly so happy to be playing again. He even looks happier just standing behind the baseline waiting to receive serve.
So does anyone know who he plays next and when?

Thanks for that Bev! Unfortunately I can't really zip down to DC for the night games or I'll be coming home at 3 am. Hopefully Andy will crush Copil anyway. I just want them to schedule him for the daytime so I have a chance to get down there to see him in one day, staying over in Washington is a problem. I have to say it's PITIFUL that the tournament doesn't start any matches until 2 pm, particularly considering that the weather is really iffy this week and the skies keep opening around 10 pm and interrupting play.
