Andy in Barcelona

Quote

Thanks for the informative intro ATL.  All seems to be sounding and looking good, so here's hoping he fares better here than he did in MC.  Perhaps the 'homely' feel about Barcelona will help.

Thank you atl . Fingers crossed for Andy in this tournament, if my kids were not coming to stay I'd go over, it's a fantastic city love staying there .

Agreed.  He's grown into himself - big time.

Poor editing suggests Andy hasn't been in Barcelona since 2012, but actually he was there in 2015 to train, just hasn't played the tournament since 2012.

The main court at the Sanchez-Casal academy in Barcelona where Andy trained has been renamed after him.

Oh that is so nice and a lovely pic of our lovely boy.     I'll bet he enjoyed the RMA v Barca match last night.     Rafa not so much!!!    Messi was  wonderful and Ronaldo very ordinary.

Look clearly it is hard to see Murray going very far in Barcelona, but  he should be able to get past Tomic or Brown so he would have at least gained a few points as he did not play this event last year.

So for his first match Andy gets Tomic, who beat Dustin Brown in three sets. I see that Kyle got dumped out pretty thoroughly by Dominic Thiem, a bit disappointing after he did so well against Rafa in Monte Carlo. But I do think Dan might have a chance against Mischa Zverev later.
