Andy & Kim to wed in Dunblane Cathedral

Quote

If you thought having three best men and four bridesmaids was a bit excessive for a chapel that seats only 28, then you were right!

It seems Andy and Kim have bowed to popular request from those who wish to share their big day with them and have arranged for the wedding to take place, reportedly in the beautiful Dunblane Cathedral.  Although the Cathedral’s minister, the Reverend Colin Renwick, has said: “I can’t confirm anything as we have a strict rule that we cannot discuss anyone’s wedding', I doubt The Scotsman would print the story (along with the DM and the Stirling Observer) unless it was 99.9% sure of the facts.  The venue for the reception though will still be Cromlix House - http://www.scotsman.com/news/celebrity/andy-murray-to-marry-kim-sears-at-dunblane-cathedral-1-3723989

You can't organise a cathedral wedding at "short" notice - I reckon it was always going to be there! after all, with Andys family, Kims family, their friends they are wanting to invite, I suspect it was always there.

Dunblane actually surprised me as a venue as it's usually the bride's home town (so that would have been London area) that you go with (eg - My husband is from Kent, I'm originally from Yorkshire, although we live in Kent, we married in Leeds) - Banns have to be read in BOTH parishes (at least it used to have to be lol) so this could still all be a red herring Wink

I just hope the papperazi leave them to marry in peace!

I agree - I'd be most surprised if this was a switch-due to logistics and Andy never being one to change his mind to suit public pressure. He never said it was all in the hotel, media presumed. Pretty sure this has always been the plan.

Can't say I care where they get married.  But given Andy means so much to the people of Dunblane and is always so keen to give back to the city, does seem like the right decision even though I'm sure they'd have preferred something more private.

at this rate it's going to have all the feel of a royal wedding.  But then perhaps Andy constitutes Scottish royalty   w00t

Reading this I pictured Andy and Kim coming out of the Cathedral to cheering crowds and thought " the new Scottish Royalty".  And for one special day, why not?

Hopefully only ones they release though - I'd hate the thought of papperazi invading the Cathedral!

We could dress up as bridesmaid and pageboys and hide in the bushes then jump out and follow Kim in as everyone would be looking at her no one would notice us.!!!!!!!
