BS.
JJ was below par all match.
So you think Melzer had nothing to do with that? And also, why was he below par? What was his reason to be below par?

If were talking about overall level, JJ is much better.
No, you said he shits all over Karlovic when they have yet to face each other. You have no idea how the match will pan should they meet. You've just made a very big assumption there.

Not really, no. If JJ had been on form, he'd have made life a lot easier for himself.
Melzer was good, but nothing special. A lot of his points were due to JJ mistakes.
Also JJ said afterwards he did not like the condition of court 12, he slipped a few times, and even said it affected his movement, so maybe the explains the slow movement issue. And we must not forget the elbow injury.
Talking of injuries I think the only 100% fit players left in the draw are Djokovic, Kubot, Verdasco and Berdych.

First of all, mistakes don't happen all the time on its own. Sometimes your opponents cause them. I hope you paid attention to the match.
Second, all are bad excuses. Melzer was just fine on the same court. At least he didn't have a series of complaints.

I never get ANY level especially when comparing two players, which is in this case, when they have yet to play a match.
I understand the hype of course.

No shit, sherlock.
Never denied that Melzer played badly. But I stand by my opinion that JJ would have won a lot more comfortably if he was playing his best level.
And how do you know that Melzer was just fine? Were you inside his head, or are you just presuming that because he's not someone who speaks his mind, like JJ is?
Also how are they bad excuses? Would you say the same if I claimed Andy was not playing his best due to his back injury? Clearly not. The elbow injury is a perfectly valid excuse. But of course you've probably never played Tennis whilst not 100% before so it doesn't matter to you.

Because he chose not to say anything even if there was anything as every single thing is part of the game. JJ will learn eventually.
I did not say anything about his injury, now did I? Please pay attention to the part I've highlighted. But it is really part of the game as well. In the end, the fittest and wisest will survive and will dictate the sport.
I'd already said before the match that Melzer would make it very interesting and he did. It's only because I am so familiar with Melzer's game.
Anyway, no point going on with this anymore, really. I am truly indifferent to JJ. I never disrespect any tennis player - even Federer. Don't like him, sure but don't disrespect him.

Melzer is a very good player and very underrated.
I didn't mean to hurt your feelings re: JJ, really. I know you like him very much and I want to be careful about people's feelings. I was just analyzing the match.

Lol, you didn't hurt my feelings at all. I am not JJ's Dad or best friend, just a fan, and this is an online forum.
Besides, Andy will be getting my support if they face.
JJ has plenty of time to win a Wimbledon. Andy's time is running out, and he is still my main favourite.

Well, I am going to be watching Wimbledon from my home comfort from this point on, so that I can avoid unnecessary and silly arguments here on the forum that seem to pop from nowhere.
I wish Andy all the best. I hope he really, really gets the title.

I am not very sure about that because Kubot is not only ranked 130 but he's also your out and out clay courter. He's lucky to be here frankly but I don't want to take anything away from him however. It is what it is. I can think of only one reason as to why Melzer would think that. He's done JJ good and took too much out of him. He must have noticed that towards the end of the match and also, JJ's serves weren't as effective overall and his movement was getting slower as the match progressed. I thought he was giving his all to win that match against Melzer. So let's see if he's right.
Uh, Kubot is a bit of a grass specialist and a regular doubles player. Made the 4R here two years ago as well, with less luck in his draw and actually upset Monfils.

Hey people, been a lurker for a bit but thought I'd join. Murray fan since 08 and nice to see people like him as much as I do aha.
Have a question regarding queing times for henman hill on the final - family thinking of going but not sure how early to get to wimbledon for? This is mainly hypothetical since I'm only likely to be going if murray were to be in the final (not trying to jinx I'm only asking so I'd know what to expect in that scenario). I've looked around online and some say early hours of the morning and some say camp the night before so yeah anyone that's been last year for instance or even just someone with an educated guess that can help me out? Cheers.
